Art Ganz, Salt Ponds Coalition President, is a retired Marine Biologist and Adjunct Professor. He and his wife, Pam, a Pond Watcher, have lived in Quonochontaug for 33 years. They have two married children and two grandchildren. Art conducted most of the early salt pond shellfish surveys in the 1980s and set up the management program still in effect on the ponds. He has worked cooperatively with colleagues at URI and other agencies to address the resource needs of the salt ponds such as development of the Special Area Management Plan for the Salt Ponds and the South Shore Restoration Project. He would like to produce more public awareness/hands on programs for boaters and kayakers to enjoy and learn about our salt pond paradise that we all love.
