George Hill lives in the Indigo Point section of South Kingstown and has served on the SPC board since 2000. For much of his career, George was a freighter captain and traveled the world, sometimes with his family on board. Now George and his wife Cathy are active horticulturists and volunteer in many activities. George and Cathy also host the popular annual SPC pizza fundraiser in their beautiful gardens, where they cook gourmet pizzas in the outdoor wood-fired pizza oven George built from field stone. The Hills raised their family on and around Green Hill Pond and often "putter" across the pond from the neighborhood dock to the beach in a small skiff. George shares the concern of many others regarding the pollution in Green Hill Pond and works hard to help SPC grow and become ever more effective.
