Nancy, a retired school nurse, was introduced to Quonnie in 1956 and has returned here every summer since (except the three years they lived in Alaska). She became a full-time resident eleven years ago. Her husband was an avid fisherman so there was always a boat in the pond from April through November. Her three children learned the joys of the ponds and spent many many hours in, on and around the waters of Ninigret and Quonnie Ponds. Her grandchildren have done the same.
She joined the SPC Board three years ago and serves as secretary. She also coordinates the volunteers who donate hundreds of hours of service at the Kettle Pond Visitor Center to help offset our office rent. Nancy believes the ponds are "such a special place" and that "we cannot lose them!"
